The Future of Europe?

While Pope Benedict hopes and prays for a resurgence of Christianity in Europe, the naysayers instead say that the future is either a dominant Muslim population or secularism. Neither is particularly good for the fate of Catholics since either would require the denial of the truths of the faith. However, if Catholics do not wake up to the need to evangelize once again, they have no one to blame but themselves for empty churches or worse - more things like this.

I agree wholeheartedly. Our parish emphasizes that we, as laity, have to be active, involved and what we do (or do not do) directly affects the future of the Church. Enjoyed your blog. ( I've just started one about Catholics with disabilities.) Take care.

The future of Europe? Sounds more like the future of the United States to me! We usually lag about ten years behind Europe, so we can expect this here on our shores someday soon.

You're right. We all must wake up and evangelize once again. I live in Tahiti. The Church are full.
